What the badges on a driver's profile actually mean

No driver appears on this site until we have seen their documents. These are the tiers, and exactly what each one required.

Verified

ID, driving licence, vehicle registration and insurance checked against the originals.

  • National ID or passport
  • Sri Lankan driving licence
  • Vehicle registration for the car they will drive you in
  • Valid vehicle insurance

Fully Verified

Everything under Verified, plus a tourist chauffeur licence from SLTDA or NTDA.

SLTDA Licensed

Holds an official tourist chauffeur licence from the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority. It is a separate credential from our own checks, issued by the government rather than by us, and you can confirm it yourself against the official public register.

We only show this badge where we hold the licence document and have approved it. A driver telling us their registration number is a claim, not evidence, and does not earn the badge on its own.

What we do not claim

A verified badge says we checked documents. It is not a guarantee about someone's driving, their English, or whether you will get on with them — no badge can be. That is what the reviews on each profile are for, and why we would rather show you a driver with no reviews yet than pad the page with ones we wrote ourselves.

If a driver ever asks you for more than the price you agreed, tell us. It is a breach of our terms and we will deal with it.
