The all-inclusive per-day model explained
Most legitimate private driver operators in Sri Lanka quote a single daily rate that is all-inclusive of the things that most operators in other countries charge separately. When you receive a quote through this platform, the per-day price covers: the vehicle for the day, your driver's time and expertise, all fuel for your planned itinerary, highway tolls and parking fees, and the driver's own meals and accommodation for the night. You do not receive a bill for fuel at the end of the day. You do not pay a highway toll charge. The quoted rate is what you pay for transport, full stop.
What the daily rate does not cover
The daily rate is for transport only. Your own hotels and meals, entrance tickets to sites (national parks, ancient cities, temples), safari jeep fees at Yala or Udawalawe, and any optional activities you choose are entirely separate. How rates vary by vehicle type
The daily rate changes depending on the vehicle you choose. A sedan (Toyota Prius or Axio) for a couple typically costs less per day than an SUV or a van for a larger group. However, because the rate is per vehicle rather than per person, the cost per head falls sharply as your group grows — a van carrying six people works out to a much lower price per person than six separate taxi rides. Deposit, balance and payment flow
Once you accept a quote, you pay a deposit (typically a percentage of the total trip cost) to confirm the booking and secure your driver. The balance is settled before or on the final day of the trip, depending on the arrangement agreed at booking. Deposits are processed securely through Stripe, so you are covered by standard card payment protections. The balance is most commonly paid in cash (USD or local currency) at the end of the trip, though online payment of the balance is also available on request.
Commission transparency and what it means for you
Unlike some booking platforms, this site shows you what the driver receives and does not mark up driver rates invisibly behind the scenes.
